CPD & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Adopting PPU is
documented professional development

Learning a new clinical framework, applying it in session, and reflecting on outcomes is CPD activity under every major registration board’s requirements. This page is your reference for recording your Power Phrase Universe adoption against AHPRA, APS, NZPB, and BPS frameworks.

ESTIMATED CPD HOURS

How much CPD does
PPU adoption generate?

The figures below are estimates based on typical practitioner engagement. These are conservative — extended use, peer consultation, and reflective practice notes can generate significantly more.

1–2hr

Reading the evidence base

Active learning. The clinical justification document and neuroscientific rationale.

1hr

7-phase framework walkthrough

Active learning. First-time review of the complete session framework.

3–6hr

First three supervised applications

In-session use of any deck with structured reflective notes after each.

1hr

Peer discussion

Discussing your PPU use with a colleague or supervisor counts as peer CPD.

Ongoing

Reflective practice notes

Post-session notes submitted through the pilot portal qualify as reflective CPD.

6–10hr

Full pilot participation

Combined total across a 3-month pilot. Covers multiple CPD categories simultaneously.

Note on formal recognition: Power Phrase Universe is in the process of applying for formal AHPRA-aligned CPD recognition. Until confirmed, PPU adoption can be recorded as self-directed CPD — a legitimate and accepted CPD category.

BY REGISTRATION BOARD

Your board’s
specific requirements

How PPU adoption maps against each major registration framework. Select your board below.

Australia — AHPRA & Australian Psychological Society

AHPRA requires 10 hours of CPD per year minimum (APS recommends 30). PPU adoption can contribute to multiple categories simultaneously.
CPD Category PPU Activity Hours Status
Active learning Reading evidence base; framework walkthrough; in-session applications 3–5 hr Recordable now
Reflective practice Post-session notes; pilot submissions; case formulation Ongoing Recordable now
Peer consultation Peer discussion; supervision conversations about PPU use 1 hr Recordable now
Formal CPD recognition Full AHPRA-aligned accreditation Application in progress

APS members: PPU adoption also qualifies under the APS’s practice-based learning category.

New Zealand — NZPB

NZPB requires annual CPD as a condition of practising certificate renewal.
NZPB Category PPU Activity Notes Status
Self-directed learning Evidence base; framework study Document with reflection notes Recordable now
Practice-based learning In-session applications with reflective notes Portfolio entry with client outcome notes Recordable now
Consultation & supervision Peer discussion of PPU use Log discussion topics and outcomes Recordable now

United Kingdom — BPS & HCPC

HCPC requires CPD that demonstrates your practice has developed and benefited service users.
Framework Category PPU Activity Notes Status
Work-based learning In-session applications; pilot participation HCPC requires evidence of benefit to service users Recordable now
Professional activity Peer consultation; case supervision Log dates and discussion content Recordable now
Self-directed learning Evidence base; framework study BPS CPD Portfolio entry Recordable now

MORE THAN ONE PSYCHOLOGIST

When your whole practice
uses the same framework

One of the underestimated benefits of practice-wide PPU adoption is what it does to clinical CPD across the team.

What changes when the whole practice is on the same framework

  • Peer CPD becomes effortless. Any case discussion using the 7-phase structure counts.
  • Supervision is richer. Supervisors and supervisees share a reference framework.
  • New clinicians onboard faster. The 7-phase framework becomes your practice induction.
  • Practice-wide CPD reporting. Group reflective practice sessions satisfy AHPRA’s peer consultation category.

Practice Licensing
includes CPD support

Practice licence holders receive a dedicated CPD documentation pack covering the whole team.

  • Pre-completed CPD log templates for all team members
  • Group reflective practice session guide
  • Supervision framework built on the 7-phase structure
  • Annual CPD summary letter for board submission
  • New clinician onboarding documentation pack

THE BIGGER PICTURE

From pilot to school recommendation

We are building this the right way. Before PPU is sold broadly, it needs to be tested by real clinicians with real children and validated through real outcomes.

Once pilot psychologists have gathered three months of session data and provided testimonials, the next stage opens: psychologist-to-school recommendation.

  1. Pilot phase — psychologists use the system, submit session data, experience measurable outcomes
  2. Testimonial phase — verified clinical testimonials from registered practitioners
  3. School recommendation phase — pilot psychologists approach schools with evidence-backed recommendations
  4. Broader sales launch — pricing tiers and institutional licensing open once the evidence base is established

“We are not rushing to sell. We are building the kind of evidence base that makes a school principal say yes without hesitation.”
