CPD & Professional Development.
Adopting PPU is professional development. Guidance for logging your PILA Card System adoption against AHPRA, APS, NZPB, and BPS CPD requirements.
Clinicians in Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom are required to complete annual continuing professional development. Adopting a new clinical framework — learning it, applying it in session, and reflecting on outcomes — is documented CPD activity. This page is your reference for how to record your Power Phrase Universe adoption as part of your annual CPD log.
What counts as CPD when adopting PPU: Reading the Evidence Base and clinical justification. Completing the 7-phase framework walkthrough. First three supervised in-session applications of any deck. Reflective practice notes following each application. Peer-discussion or peer-supervision conversations about deck use. Case formulation using the 7-phase structure.
Suggested CPD logging template fields: Activity title. Date. Hours. Category (active learning, peer consultation, or reflective practice). Reflection. Outcome for client work.
Regional bodies and frameworks referenced: Australia — AHPRA, APS (Australian Psychological Society). New Zealand — NZPB (New Zealand Psychologists Board). United Kingdom — BPS (British Psychological Society), HCPC.
Formal recognition status: Power Phrase Universe is in the process of applying for formal AHPRA-aligned CPD recognition. Until then, individual clinicians can record PPU adoption as self-directed CPD under the active-learning and reflective-practice categories defined by each board.
Next steps: Download the CPD logging template. Read the Evidence Base. Start the Clinician Portal walkthrough. For practice-wide CPD planning, see our Practice Licensing page.
