Case Study Template — Using the Decks in Practice
This template is for clinicians who want to document and share their experience using the therapeutic card decks. Completed case studies may be submitted for inclusion in our Evidence Base.
About This Case Study
- Clinician name / role (optional — may remain anonymous)
- Setting (e.g. private practice, NHS, school, inpatient, community)
- Client group (e.g. adults, adolescents, families — do not include identifying information)
- Deck(s) used
The Client Context
Briefly describe the presenting issue or therapeutic goal that led you to use the decks. No identifying details — focus on the clinical picture.
What were you hoping the deck might offer this client or group?
How You Used the Deck
- Which deck(s) did you use, and in what format? (individual session, group, take-home, etc.)
- How did you introduce the cards to the client?
- How many sessions involved the deck?
- Did you adapt or modify how you used it? If so, how?
What Happened
Describe the client's response and what unfolded in the work. This is the heart of the case study — be as specific as you can while maintaining confidentiality.
What did the deck make possible that might not have happened otherwise?
Outcomes and Reflections
- What shifted for the client, if anything?
- What did you notice as the clinician?
- Would you use this deck again with a similar client? Why or why not?
- Any adaptations you'd recommend to other clinicians?
